Day 1: Vilnius (5 km)
Arrival to Vilnius airport, meet&greet and transfer (20 min) to the selected hotel for a two-night stay.
Day 2: Vilnius & Trakai (70 km)
HD sightseeing tour of Vilnius (bus and walking) including the Cathedral (entrance), Gediminas Castle and Avenue, St. Peter & Paul’s Church (entrance), the UNESCO Old Town with the Gates of Dawn, Town Hall, Jewish Quarter, Castle Street, Presidential Palace, St. Anne’s Church, Uzupis Republic and Vilnius University (entrance). Afternoon excursion to Trakai Island Castle (entrance) including and a walk along the wooden old town and lakeshore.
Day 3: Vilnius to Klaipeda via Kaunas (340 km)
Morning departure towards Klaipeda on the Baltic Sea via Rumsiskes Open Air-Museum (90 min: ethnographic wooden houses, churches and windmills of rural Lithuania) and Kaunas, Lithuania’s second largest city on River Nemunas (120 min: sightseeing tour of the Old Town with Kaunas Castle, Town Hall, Perkunas House, Cathedral (entrance) and Vilniaus str. continuing onto the New Town with its landmark Freedom Avenue, St. Michael’s Church and modernist facades). Late afternoon arrival to Klaipeda for a two-night stay. Evening at leisure for great walks around the cozy old town.
Day 4: Curonian Spit daytrip (120 km)
After a panoramic drive around Klaipeda’s city centre continuation onto the Curonian Spit, accessed by a ferry. This UNESCO-protected National Park (entrance) is a sandy 98-kilometre peninsula famous for Europe’s tallest sand dunes, picturesque fishermen villages and beautiful pine forests. FD sightseeing tour including the Hill of Witches in Juodkrante, the Dead Dunes Reserve in Nagliai, the Parnidis Dune and the wooden Old Town of Nida with a visit to Thomas Mann Museum (entrance). Time permitting – stop at the Baltic beach.
Day 5: Klaipeda to Riga via Palanga, Hill of Crosses & Rundale (350 km)
Morning departure towards Riga with a stop in Palanga (90 min: walk in the botanical garden and the sea- bridge), continuing to the Hill of Crosses (45 min) and Rundale (120 min: visit the Palace and Park). Late afternoon arrival to Riga for a two-night stay.
Day 6: Riga (20 km)
HD sightseeing tour of Riga (bus and walking) including the UNESCO Old Town with the City Hall, House of Blackheads, St. Peter’s Church, Convent Courtyard (entrance), Livonian Square, National Opera, Swedish Gates, Powder Tower, St. Jacob’s Church (entrance), Riga Castle, Freedom Monument and the Dome Cathedral (entrance), followed by a tour of the Art Nouveau District with a walk on Alberta Street admiring the facades. Afternoon visit to the Central Market (entrance) and panoramic drive outside the city centre.
Day 7: Riga to Tallinn via Dunte & Parnu (330 km)
Morning departure to Tallinn enjoying a scenic drive along the Baltic Sea and a visit to the famous Münchhausen Museum, dedicated to the unbelievable tall tales created by the Baron (60 min). Upon entering Estonia, enjoy a stop in Parnu (45min: walk around the picturesque old town). Late afternoon arrival to Tallinn for a two-night stay.
Day 8: Tallinn (20 km)
HD sightseeing tour of Tallinn (bus and walking) including Pirita Olympic Village and Song Festival Grounds followed by a walking tour of the UNESCO-listed Old Town with Toompea Fortress, Alexander Nevski Cathedral (entrance), Dome Cathedral (entrance), panoramic viewpoints, Pikk Street and its emblematic facades, Church of the Holy Spirit, Town Hall Square and St. Catherine’s Guild (entrance). Afternoon excursion to Kadriorg to visit the one of Europe’s best museums – KUMU. This art museum houses permanent and temporary exhibitions ranging from classic to contemporary and experimental art. A walk in the nearby park will sum up the day.
Day 9: Tallinn (5 km)
Transfer to Tallinn airport.
